The Hong Kong Quality Migrant Admission Scheme is a points-based system where you will get the points based on your age, qualification, work experience, language proficiency, and dependents. All Candidates are required to fulfil a set of prerequisites. Well, the visa, allows you to enter Hong Kong without holding a job offer and settle permanently with your dependents.
Points-Based System
Candidates are required to fulfil a set of prerequisites. Candidates need to score 80 Points out of 100. Under the general points test, there are six selection factors.
Age: Candidates can claim up to 30 points.

Academic Qualifications: Candidates can claim up to 70 points. Following points according to their qualifications.
Doctoral Degree / Two or more master’s degrees

Bachelor’s Degree / Professional Qualification awarded by a nationally or internationally recognized or acclaimed professional body which demonstrates that the holder has a very high level of technical expertise or skill | 10 Points |

Work Experience: A candidate may score the following points according to their work experience. Maximum of 55 points.
Not less than 10 years’ graduate or specialist level work experience, including at least 5 years in a senior role | 40 Points |
Not less than 5 years’ graduate or specialist level work experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role | 30 Points |
Not less than 5 years’ graduate or specialist level work experience | 15 Points |
Not less than 2 years’ graduate or specialist level work experience | 05 Points |
Additional points for not less than 2 years’ graduate or specialist level work experience with international exposure. | 15 Points |
Language Proficiency: Candidates can claim up to 20 points, according to their language Proficiency.
Being proficient both in written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) and English | 20 Points |
Being proficient in at least one foreign language (written and spoken) in addition to written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) or English | 15 Points |
Being proficient in written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) or English | 10 Points |
Family Background: A candidate may score the following points according to their Family Background. Maximum of 20 points.
At least one immediate family member (married spouse, parents, siblings, children) is a Hong Kong permanent resident residing in Hong Kong | 05 Points |
Accompanying married spouse is educated to the equivalent level of a degree or above | 05 Points |
5 points for each accompanying unmarried dependent child under the age of 18, a maximum of 10 points | 05/10 Points |
Talent List: A candidate may score the following points according to their qualification and work experience. Maximum of 30 points.
Additional points if meeting the specifications of the respective profession under the Talent List. | 30 Points |

Minimum Passing Points are subject to change from time to time without prior notice.
The minimum passing mark is 80, Candidate needs to score at least 80 points to be qualify. Points will only be awarded if the applicant can provide all supporting documents to the Immigration Department.
To get additional points through the talent list, an applicant must provide supporting documents to the Government.
Achievement-based Points:
The Scheme is for those Candidates who have received an award of Achievement as Olympic Medals, National/International awards, or Nobel Prizes.
Or if the candidate has received any acknowledgment for contributing in any field. e.g., lifetime achievement award from any industry.
Requirements for this stream are very high. Those who fulfill all the requirements or meet the criteria, under this test will be awarded 225 points. else, no point will be awarded. Applications that fail to score points under this test will be refused immediately.
