IELTS: The International English Language Testing System was established in 1989, it is the most popular English language ability test to study or work in a foreign country The test is accepted almost all around the world. Types of IELTS Exam
IELTS Academic: The Academic test is for candidates who wish to migrate for the purpose of pursuing their degree, and nurses who want to study or practice in an English-speaking country.
IELTS General Training: General Training is for candidates who wish to migrate for the purpose of working or non-academic training in an English-speaking country.
Mode of the Exam
Paper-Based Test
For those candidates who choose the Paper-Based Test, the Listening, Reading, and Writing sections will be paper-based while the Speaking test will be conducted face-to-face with the IELTS examiner.
Computer Test
For those candidates who choose the Computer Test, the Listening, Reading, and Writing sections will have to be on a computer, while the Speaking test, will be conducted face-to-face with the IELTS examiner.
The exam is a test of all the language skills, i.e., reading, writing, listening & Speaking.
Components of IELTS exam.
Reading Section (60 Minutes) this section contains 40 questions. Each correct answer question gives 1 mark. You can achieve a maximum of 40 points in the reading section.
Writing Section (60 Minutes) in this Section you’ll have to write it. Bad handwriting will reduce your score. You will have to complete the maximum word in the writing section.
Listening Section (40 Minutes) this section contains 40 questions. Each correct answer question gives 1 mark. You can achieve a maximum of 40 points in the listening section. You will get only one chance to hear.
Speaking Section (12-15 Minutes) in this section you’ll have to speak on a topic that the examiner asks you in a face-to-face interview.
IELTS Score Requirements of Express Entry: Express Entry is a fast-moving pathway to move to Canada, also it is the most popular program. For Express Entry all you need is 67 points based on the selection factors. As IELTS is also required for the Express Entry, you will be required to score a minimum of 6 bands as it is the minimum requirement for a Canadian PR visa.
